Job Description
Morris Hedstrom (MH), Fiji's largest retail supermarket chain, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Variety Buyer. This role involves identifying market trends, negotiating deals, and sourcing/managing a diverse range of non-food products for customers.
Responsibilities
Source and evaluate non-food suppliers; identify products meeting market trends; conduct market research; negotiate pricing and contracts; build supplier relationships; manage inventory and ensure product availability; analyze sales and purchasing trends; monitor budgets and margins; ensure product quality and compliance; prepare performance reports; coordinate with Marketing/Sales; ensure procurement compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Commerce, or related field; Minimum 3 years' experience in buying, merchandising, procurement, or category management, preferably retail; Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills; Excellent analytical, planning, and forecasting abilities; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines; Excellent communication and organizational skills.
