Job Description
Carpenters Fiji Limited invites applications for a Credit Officer based at the MH Finance Department, Head Office in Suva. The role involves managing customer credit accounts, assessing credit risk, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts to support strong cash flow and minimize financial exposure.
Responsibilities
Evaluate credit applications, assess risk, monitor accounts, revise limits, follow up on overdue accounts, implement collection strategies, maintain records, prepare reports, liaise with internal departments (Finance, Operations, HR, Procurement, Internal Audit, IT), coordinate with external stakeholders (banks, auditors, suppliers, regulatory authorities), support audit requirements, and identify process improvement opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline. 1-2 years' experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or similar finance role (retail experience preferred). Sound understanding of credit assessment and debt recovery. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and accounting systems. Ability to build effective working relationships.
