Job Description

To provide advice and support to the Manager Employee Relations for all matters pertaining to Employee Relations.

Responsibilities

Lead efficient and effective employment relations (ER) including budgeting, ERP, and strategy development. Provide effective employee and industrial relations services by maintaining relationships with Employees, Unions, and Ministry of Employment Productivity & Employment Relations; conducting negotiations and agreements with Unions; managing Union Log of Claims; consulting and evaluating ER implications; and providing professional ER advice. Ensure compliant IR & ER through audit, advisory services, compliance improvement, competence level improvement, reduction in IR & ER issues/disputes and liabilities, managing workplace compensation, and facilitating Transport Committee Hearings. Keep Management and Board informed on IR through statistical reports, risk assessment, and possible actions.

Requirements

Degree in Business Management/Human Resources/Employment/Industrial Relations or related area from a recognized Tertiary Institute with 5 years' experience in HR and 3 years in Industrial/Employee Relations. Alternatively, a Diploma in Business Management/Human Resources/Employment/Industrial Relations from a recognized Tertiary Institute with a relevant postgraduate certificate and 5 years' experience in both HR and Industrial/Employee Relations. Thorough knowledge of Employment Relations Act (ERA) 2007 and its amendments, International Labor Organization (ILO) laws and standards, and proficiency with all operating software and applications.
