Job Description
The position is based at the Energy Fiji Limited's Navutu Depot and reports to the General Manager Human Resources. The Manager Training (Western) is responsible for ensuring strategic alignment of the training department, meeting training milestones, developing and delivering training schedules, e-learning courses, and managing the training budget. The role encompasses technical training, career development, monitoring and evaluation of training programs, research into new training methods, compliance with standards, and fostering a safety and innovation culture within the organization. The incumbent will also manage grants and levies related to training.
Responsibilities
Strategic alignment and management of training programs including scheduling, budget, e-learning design, and delivery; identification and fulfillment of training needs for staff development, upskilling, and succession planning. Oversight of technical training, simulator programs, and safe testing procedures for equipment. Development and leadership of the training team, implementation of career development initiatives, and assessment of training effectiveness through ROI. Continuous research into new training methods and technologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies. Management of green projects, innovation initiatives, and FNU grants/levies. Requires strong professionalism, communication, planning, organizational, and leadership skills, with a focus on performance management and fostering an innovative culture.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical or Mechanical from a recognized institution, at least 10-15 years' work experience in the power utility industry, Postgraduate qualification (MBA / Master's in HRM, Education, or related field), well versed with Quality Management, Fiji Business Excellence Award's Framework and Innovation Management, Registered Training Officer (RTO) with FNU or currently undertaking TOT I-IV / Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (added advantage), Membership with a recognized professional body relevant to the field of study, Valid Wireman's License (Electrical), Valid Group 2 driver's license (non-provisional), outstanding communication skills (verbal & written), right attitude, team player, self-motivated, and professional work ethics.
