Sugar Industry Tribunal

Lautoka, Viti Levu, Fiji

About the Company

The Sugar Industry Tribunal is an independent, quasi-judicial body established by Fiji's Sugar Industry Act. Its primary purpose is to provide a means for dispute resolution within the nation's sugar industry. The Tribunal is responsible for mediating and arbitrating on issues that arise between the Fiji Sugar Corporation (the miller) and the country's sugar cane growers. Headed by an Industrial Commissioner, it handles contractual matters, sets the Master Award that governs the industry, and works to ensure harmony and efficiency among all stakeholders.
